Customer Database Manager - Direct Marketing

Our client is one of Britain's foremost catalogue shopping retailers based in a superb rural location in the Rutland county town of Oakham. They are the UK subsidiary of one of America's most popular mail-order companies and provide top quality casual clothing for men and women to customers throughout the UK and they now require a talented manager to further establish their UK business.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Marketing Director, you will use your flair and ingenuity to take responsibility for designing and developing the Customer Data strategy. On a day to day basis you will be:
* Managing your team to interpret trends, evaluate marketing success and drive customer acquisition and retention through effective use of customer data.
* Ensuring profitable demand from customers through effective use of all planning, segmentation and processing systems
* Ensuring accuracy of forecasting and planning through analysis of current and prior results for all communications
* Analysing and developing the contact strategy, through understanding the customer behaviour to generate customer loyalty.
* Supporting the online analyst in online reporting and analysis (campaigns, page performance, site conversion).
* Providing reports to management that include demand performance and future demand forecasts.
THE PERSON
You will be educated to degree level and have a strong background in direct marketing, preferably - though not necessarily - involving the catalogue industry. Your knowledge of software, statistical tools and relational databases should include SPSS or equivalent. You will have strong communications skills, you will be able to produce management reports and present them with confidence.
You will be a team player who nevertheless can work independently with consistent accuracy even when under pressure and is practised at managing a varied workload and identifying priorities. Proactive by nature, you will recognise the real commercial opportunities where astute marketing analysis will drive the business forward.
