Job Description
Role purpose
Provide an effective Underwriting and efficient administration service to clients/brokers, underwriting and accounts/credit control departments.
This includes processing of new, renewal and endorsement business for UK Regional insurance programmes; handling of accounts and credit control queries and assistance with the production of business reports. The role will also involve a degree of liaison with other Regional offices.
Also Underwriting business in accordance with Underwriting Authority.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Process documentation and general administration of UK Regional insurance programmes.
Review underwriting files and slip information as necessary, to reconcile broker closing statements with system entries. Liaise with brokers and/or Underwriters to expedite closing documentation.
Comply with Principles and Governance procedures and support SOX and compliance processes and procedures, ensuring good corporate governance
Underwrite new and existing business cases including risk profile assessment analysis and compilation of data for referrals and mid-term reviews in both a lead and following capacity. Oversee implementation of Risk Management measures in a timely manner as appropriate
Provide excellent service to and develop relationships with Clients and Brokers with the aim to improving risk profile knowledge and negotiating positions.
Work and liaise with Market Management, Surveyors, Operations and Claims to improve the Underwriting Process and support providing an efficient service to Clients and Brokers
Qualifications, Experience, Skills, Competencies
Experience in policy administration / processing
Excellent knowledge of systems, including Microsoft Office Applications
Communication Skills - excellent verbal / written communication and interpersonal skills
Task Planning - schedule tasks in accordance with daily review of priorities
Personal Effectiveness - self starter, self motivated
Commitment to achieving CII professional qualifications
