A full claims handling role, office based role within a team of Handlers supporting external Loss Adjusters.
In your role you will have responsibility for a portfolio of claims and you will assist the Adjusters in achieving settlement with minimal lapse time. In this regard you will receive calls from Insurance professionals and Policyholders, all of whom will be seeking guidance on the process of the Claims under your stewardship.
Your responsibilities
1. Taking instructions from clients
2. Gathering necessary policy information (eg cover inc warranties endorsements,
policy wordings, etc)
3. Undertaking preliminary enquiries into the circumstances of the loss
4. Providing both initial guidance to the policyholder as well as preparing the adjuster for a quality first visit
You will work closely with the Adjusters to achieve the most efficient use of resource to progress the Claim within Insurers service level agreement (SLAs).
You will be required to provide accurate information and guidance in a clear and professional manner.
Recognising that on occasion people will be both emotional and stressed you will have compassion and patience when required.
Whilst primary responsibility for the claim rests with the Adjuster you will be expected to become involved in the day to day running of files and thus the negotiations and settlement which this entails.
Accordingly you will have the ability to understand and interpret Policy cover as well as the claim handling philosophy and SLA’s.
