Job Description

Commercial Underwriting Team Manager, London. £60-75,000 plus excellent benefits package.

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing and developing an existing book through key targets and strategic direction. You'll be confident numerically and analytically to lead a well established team of around 22 underwriters across both head office and other underwriting teams.

Responsibilities: Lead trading across channels of sale. Delivery of budgeted return across packages channels of sale. Provision of technical support to regions, distribution and processing and servicing centre. Set the underwriting policy, review operational exposure, business goals and external factors including market change. Account performance optimisation. Lead account segmentation, analysis, and performance. Pricing performance and control of account. Line of business governance including underwriting audit responsibility for the operating units and HO. Line management of technical trading units at other sites. Underwriting manual and circular control, update and development. Ensure compliance within packages area to Internal and external governance requirements. Lead packages underwriting involvement to pricing meetings.

Individuals will be expected to be ACII part or fully qualified. Relevant and proven senior trading experience. Expert understanding of contracts, structure and wording. Proven track record of managing teams. Intimate understanding of commercial market place, competitors and regulatory frameworks.
