Job Description
As a result of company growth and increased projects, we are looking for an experienced web designer with a keen eye for detail and great design. The designer will join a close knit and motivated team and help create our next generation of web services. We have a number of exciting new projects in progress which include aspects of social networking, communication, e-commerce and web API development.
As a designer you will be part of creating and implementing a creative direction for a new set of products and services. You will also have the opportunity to produce artwork for marketing campaigns on an existing, high-traffic, consumer-based website.
Technical Skills and Experience
Example work should be available which demonstrates experience and exposure with the software and technologies listed below.
The designer should have:
Strong understanding of graphic design theory and techniques
Ability to apply graphic design theory to web-based design
Excellent working knowledge of professional graphics editor such as Adobe Photoshop
Good understanding and solid experience of creating standards-based HTML and CSS templates from designs. These templates should work well across the major browsers and gracefully degrade on older browsers.
Experience with creating rich User Interfaces for the web with usability in mind
Knowledge of using social network and ecommerce based sites
Ability to create a strong and unique visual brand, while also having the ability to be creative within an overall design direction/branding
It is desirable to have any exposure or experience with the following:
Creating print based media
Photographic skills (retouching, post production)
Creating “Illustration” style artwork
Creating media for sales based advertising
