Health and Safety Manager required by an established Norfolk based property developer who operates nationally. The role reports to the Facilities Management Director and will be responsible for ensuring that all safety legislation is adhered to and policies and practices are adopted across the company. You will have portfolio-wide responsibility for preparing Health and Safety Strategies and developing internal policy. Undertaking risk assessments and considering how risks could be reduced. Outlining safe operational procedures which identify and take into account all relevant hazards. Carry out Regular site inspections to ensure policies and procedures are being implemented. Planning practical and effective methods of promoting health and safety and safe working practices. Keeping records of inspections findings and producing reports to suggest improvements. Keeping records of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for management. Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all the Health and Safety Executive legislation.
Leading in house training with management and employees regarding all Health and Safety issues and risks. Carry out accident investigations on site and produce the subsequent reports and recommendations. Liaising with regulatory bodies to ensure that the organisation is compliant with mandatory regulations.
For this role you will need effective interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
Initiative and an innovative approach to solutions. Practical, flexible and able to deal with and adapt to a variety of situations. Good organisational skills. Presence and credibility in relation to Health and Safety matters
In terms of qualifications our client will require NEBOSH or IOSH Qualification or equivalent. A degree or professional qualification is desirable. Your knowledge and experience should be within the construction industry.
