What an opportunity this is for an Interim Commercial or Finance Director! A background in both Commerce and Finance will be essential for this role which will make a name for you in Norfolk and allow you to be involved in a truly fascinating project. The objective is to “reinvent” one of Norfolk’s best known companies in terms of both its Accounts and Operational Procedures sides. This is a big task for a very accomplished individual with a proven track record of achievement in the prescribed fields and within a motor trade environment. The last point is absolutely crucial in our clients view as it will give credibility to the Interim Director and to the process.
You will be working with the Managing Director and reporting only to him. The remit is to quickly establish how the operation is currently running both from a financial controls and an operational viewpoint. From this knowledge base you will then move forward to devise a plan with a “blank canvas” approach and put in place the building blocks necessary to take the business forward. We envisage that point will be reached in around six months but our client is flexible as to timescales and the ultimate success of the project is, within reason, far more important than the time it takes to complete.
The emphasis is on change. The company continues to run successfully and would continue to do so for many years to come, but the new Managing Director realises that so much more could be achieved if existing practices and procedures could be re-examined with fresh eyes and a commitment gained within the workforce to embrace the changes that can make a huge difference to the company going forward.
That’s the task that awaits the successful applicant – a chance to change a company’s direction and its outlook. The timescale is flexible but it is not envisaged that the task will take less than six months and an interim fee of around £50,000 + expenses has been set aside for that period.
