The purpose of this job is to assist in the management, development and control of the profitable underwriting of new and existing products, schemes and partner relationships in accordance with the company business plans and strategy.
The role
• Control the underwriting of new and existing schemes / rollovers incorporating a regular system of review.
• Control the underwriting of new and existing relationships.
• Assist with the technical content of new and existing products.
• Provide effective underwriting support for distribution channels.
• Assist with the formulation of annual and long term business plans for each intermediary product and partner.
• Assist in creating stretching business plans for each product and partner.
• Assist distribution channels to fulfil their plans.
Skills, knowledge and behaviour
• A strong understanding of the UK Personal lines market across distribution channels.
• In depth knowledge of the underwriting process across a broad range of products
• Extensive experience of managing the underwriting of large Personal Lines account.
• Strong understanding of the pricing process and market prices.
• Business and negotiation skills.
• Extensive experience of negotiating with intermediaries and partners in achieving mutually beneficial business goals
